The story of these mugs begins me wanting to make my own modern, coffee ready version of ancient minoan mugs.  They are kinda evolving but including other influences, using victorian looking florals, and of course my usual sense of not taking myself too seriously by plonking little images onto them.   They are slab built with a buff earthenware clay, decorated with slip and underglaze prints, and made by me in my studio here in my house. The clay is thick enough to hold warm liquid nicely, but light enough to feel good in the hand. Each has a little rim om the bottom to retain heat. The interior is glazed with darker glaze.

There are some different colours and prints to choose from, and there are a few available in some as listed. I have taken to making series of mugs, I make about seven each time and one thing for sure is that each set is making a new idea I have in my head. it's alot of fun, and each series, each mug is quite unique.  They weigh 320grms when packaged for mailing, and each is packaged in a cardboard box to gift, but then boxed again if popped in the mail. When your package arrives, it will look like you have been sent a giant mug but really, the mugs need alot of wrapping!

Mugs can be used with hot or cold liquids, not recommmended for microwave use as the handles can get really hot. But you can chance it if you want, it is a free country!
