I made the little fruit tray because I was so taken with how the original tray was consructed. The original wooden tray is a great example of how a two-dimensional flat shape can become a three dimensional object. I took the tray apart and just used the silouette of the shape, recreated it from a sheet of clay and joined it up. I did of course dickey it up a bit with underglaze colours, underglaze transfers, multiple firings, glazes and lastly gold lustre.
I only made the one and have no plans to make more at the moment so it is a stand alone, unique cutie! It weighs 150g and 320g when wrapped in double boxes and packing for mailing. The tray measures 14 x 11 cm.
